Diane
Annear
Diane
joined
us
in
September
2010
and
looks
after
the
office,
front
of
house
and
accounts
for
us.
She
also
tries
to
ensure
that
‘the
boys’
are
organised
–
which
is a
very
tricky
task.
After
lots
of
persuasion,
Diane
has
just
returned
to
sailing
after
having
two
sons
and
a 7
year
break.
Diane
is
back
racing
in
an
Albacore
this
year
at
Parkstone
Yacht
Club
and
hopes
to
start
teaching
her
young
family
to
sail
soon.
Emma
Griffen
Emma
joined
the
team
just
before
we
moved
into
the
new
unit
at
Creekmoor
in
January
2010.
She
is a
keen
sailor,
mostly
racing
in a
Yachting
World
Dayboat.
Emma’s
family
have
a
Westerly
Pagent
which
they
are
trying
to
get
out
and
sail
with
their
young
family.
Toby,
Emma’s
6
year
old
has
an
Optimist
which
he
is
mad
keen
to
go
racing
in.
At
work
Emma
manages
the
shop,
keeping
the
stock
levels
sensible
and
tidy.
In
addition,
she
does
sail
and
cover repairs
and
other
bits
and
pieces
in
the
loft
with
the
sewing
machines.
The
boys!!
Steve
Creasey
Steve
joined
the
team
in
February
2010
primarily
as
our
resident
fibre
glass
and
wooden
boat
repairer.
He
is
also
a
dab
hand
with
a
paint
brush
and
anything
else
that
gets
thrown
at
him.
A
keen
sailor,
Steve
currently
sails
a
Flying
Fifteen
and
an X
One
Design.
He
owns
a
National
12
and
crews
on a
J24
from
time
to
time.
Andy
Welch
(wood)
Specialises
in
wooden
boat
repairs,
anything
from
fixing
rudders
to
complete
rebuilds
and
re-decks.
Andy
trained
at
Latham’s
boatyard
as a
youngster,
joined
the
police
force
and
on
retiring
came
back
to
work
with
boats.
Andy
is a
keen
sailor,
often
seen
at
the
front
of
the
GP14
fleet
at
Poole
Yacht
Club,
on
deck
for
cruiser
racing,
or
just
drifting
around
on
his
Yacht
(Fanny).
Colin
Blewett
Colin
joined
us
towards
the
end
of
2010
to
help
with
some
of
our
larger
wooden
boat
restoration
projects.
Having
built
a
wooden
Yachting
World
Dayboat
from
scratch
in
1994,
which
he
races
at
Poole
Yacht
Club,
he
is
an
asset
to
the
team.
Harry
Creasey
Harry
has
worked
part
time
for
us
whilst
at
school.
In
September,
he
will
be
joining
us
on a
more
permanent
basis
as
he
embarks
on
his
apprenticeship
training
through
Southampton
City
College
to
become
a
boat
builder.
An
owner
of a
laser,
which
has
been
given
a
new
lease
of
life
with
some
help
from
‘the
boys’,
Harry
can
also
be
found
sailing
in
the
front
of
Yachting
World
Dayboats,
RS200s
and
Flying
Fifteens.
Murray
Glenister
Murray,
affectionately
known
as
Picasso,
is
our
resident
paint
expert.
Years
of
experience
in
the
motor
trade
doing
body
repairs
has
enabled
the
transition
to
the
painting
of
hulls
&
decks.
Awlgrip
trained,
he
is a
great
addition
to
the
team.
Murray
has
sailed
yachts
and
dinghies
for
many
years
and
owns
a
Yachting
World
Dayboat,
which
was
built
by
Chris
Somner.
He
is
currently
teaching
his
granddaughter
to
sail
in
an
Optimist.
Piers
Strong
When
Piers
is
not
studying
Marine
Engineering
at
Plymouth
university,
he
comes
and
helps
out
in
the
workshop.
He
can
be
found
fitting
out,
building,
repairing
and
restoring
boats.
The
420
National
Champion,
a
member
of
the
National
squad
for
the
past
5
years
in a
Mirror
and
420,
the
keen
dinghy
sailor
has
also
sailed
a
470,
Fireball,
Firefly
and
tried
his
hand
at
yacht
racing
too.
Piers
is
currently
a
member
of
the
Plymouth
university
sailing
team.
